It’s a great feeling to know that you’re appreciated for the work that you do and in the medical field, that’s especially true.
Doctors Day is celebrated on the 1st of July and it’s a day on which we recognize and celebrate the incredible work of doctors.
Here is a list of 10 important days that all doctors should know about and even celebrate.
1. World Health Day - Observed on 7 April each year, this day is celebrated to mark the founding of the World Health Organisation (WHO). The day also focuses on raising awareness about various health issues around the world.
2. World Blood Donor Day - Every year on 14 June, this day is celebrated to honor and thank all the blood donors who have donated their blood.
3. World Malaria Day - This day is observed on 25 April to raise awareness about malaria, a deadly infectious disease caused by a parasite. This day also marks the efforts being made to eradicate the disease from our society.
4. World Breastfeeding Week - This day is observed from 1 - 7 August each year to encourage and promote breastfeeding among new mothers.
5. World No Tobacco Day - This day is celebrated on 31 May to create awareness about the health hazards of tobacco use and to encourage people to quit smoking.
6. World Kidney Day - This day is observed on 11 March and aims to raise awareness about kidney-related diseases.
7. World AIDS Day -This day is observed on 1 December to create awareness about the impact of HIV/AIDS on people and communities around the world.
8. World Mental Health Day - This day is observed on 10 October to raise awareness about mental health and the importance of taking care of our mental wellbeing.
9. International Nurses Day - This day is observed on 12 May to honor the incredible work of nurses and to recognize their vital contributions to the medical profession.
10. World Diabetes Day - This day is observed on 14 November to create awareness about diabetes and the importance of healthy living in preventing it.
